Medicine presents unique challenges and opportunities for women. Carilion Health Systems is proud to present a unique and innovative conference designed to give women physicians practical tools for exploring and understanding their own journey in medicine both professionally and personally.
The conference will include both professional topics such as negotiating contracts, embracing the computer and effective staff management as well as more personal topics such as creating the life you love, emotional wellness and avoiding burnout.
Of special note to the Physicians Renaissance Network website, a session is dedicated to exploring creative uses of your medical degree. This overview session will explore non-clinical career options for physicians and address practical tools for discovering life “off the beaten path.” The session will be followed by a panel discussion which will feature women involved in alternative or non-clinical roles in medicine who will share their experiences and insight.
This Clarion Health System CME conference entitled “Women in Medicine: The Evolving Journey (Practical Tools for Thriving Professionally and Personally)” is scheduled at the Williamsburg Marriott in Williamsburg, VA, July 27-29, 2007.
Dr. Reilly will be moderating the panel discussion on alternative careers at 9:45AM on Sunday, July 29th. Panel members will include Christy Cone, MD, Cynthia Morrow, MD, Patricia Raymond, MD, and Hilda Templeton, MD.
