We recently found this on-line article written by Christopher Guadagnino, PhD, and entitled “Re-evaluating physician career paths.”
The article, published in Physician’s Digest News in August 1999. is an interview with Kent Bottles, M.D., a board-certified pathologist and then managing director at Diversified Search Companies and vice president and consultant at Manchester, Inc. The article starts by referencing “a 1998 survey by Levin of 6000 physicians in 22 different cities that revealed that 46 percent of all American clinicians often think about leaving clinical practice. That’s over 300,000 physicians in the United States . . .”
