Head of Clinical Affairs:
Description:
This position will report to the Chief Medical Officer and will oversee all aspects of Clinical Affairs activities including supervising Medical Directors within Clinical Affairs, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons.
* Serve as the primary contact for all external clients regarding clinical and scientific matters related to the company’s marketed products.
* Evaluate proposals for Investigator Initiated Clinical Research studies for the marketed products, medical grant and CME programs, development of Medical information, and fostering scientific interactions with practicing physicians.
* Oversee Medical Directors, the Medical Science Liaison group, Medical Information and Training functions.
* Provide scientific and medical support to internal organizations, particularly, Sales and Marketing.
* Work closely with academic leaders to identify and foster opportunities for further clinical investigation of company’s marketed products.
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess an M.D. or Pharm.D. degree with >10 years of pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience and a proven record of success in Clinical Affairs and /or Clinical Development. Must have over 7 years of experience in Clinical Affairs including management and mentoring of several groups including Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Directors. Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills; a marketing mindset; strong knowledge of OIG and Pharma guidelines. Expertise in clinical investigation and the ability to develop productive working relationships with external clinicians.
