Increasing numbers of nonclinical career opportunities for physicians arising as the Medical Affairs departments of pharmaceutical companies continue to grow in number and scope. The recently established Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS) will be of interest to physicians considering a nonclinical career or consulting opportunity in this area.
From the MAPS website: “In recent years, Medical Affairs has experienced significant changes, from organizational structures and job responsibilities to data-sharing technology and federal regulations. Keeping up and moving forward can be a challenge. That’s why we established the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS).”
