To better your understanding of non-clinical career options and/or facilitate your physician career change, today we introduce you to Randall Whitcomb, MD. Dr. Whitcomb joined Frazier Healthcare Ventures in mid-2007 as a Senior Advisor to the Biopharma investment team. Prior to Frazier Healthcare, Dr. Whitcomb was a Founder and Senior Clinical Research Fellow at QuatRx Pharmaceuticals and currently serves as a consultant to multiple biotechnology companies.

 

He served as Chief Medical Officer at QuatRx from 2000-2006. From 1991-2000 he served in various management positions at Parke-Davis, the pharmaceutical division of Warner-Lambert, including Vice President for Clinical Research and Drug Development. In these roles he had significant responsibility for development and regulatory approval of drug products in the metabolic, endocrine, cardiovascular, inflammation and women’s health areas. Prior to his tenure at Parke-Davis, he was on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School and an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital.

 

Dr. Whitcomb has authored multiple scientific publications and is a member of numerous scientific and clinical organizations. He received his M.D. from the University of Kansas where he also did clinical training in internal medicine and endocrinology followed by a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Insmed, Incorporated.
