In search of a physician career change opportunity or a new non-clinical career? An executive search firm working with a pharmaceutical company, located in the San Francisco area is in search of the following professionals: Director and Associate Director Translational Medicine 

 

Responsibilities:
Involved with advancing the development of investigational targeted cancer therapies by implementing studies to bridge preclinical research with clinical development, and support clinical trials by implementing pharmacodynamic/biomarker strategies. Responsibilities also include:

* Participate in the design and implementation of clinical PD/biomarker studies for company-sponsored clinical trials.
* Ensure compliance with protocols and overall objectives.
* Manage analysis of clinical samples with internal and external partnerships/resources.
* Propose and manage non-clinical translational medicine studies that support compound development programs.
* Identify, review, and initiate external partnerships and strategic initiatives in translational medicine.
* Partner and collaborate with internal resources to implement in vitro and in vivo studies.
* Analyze and interpret data, and produce or edit written summaries of data for reports, presentations, and publications.
* Participate in strategic reviews of clinical and mid/late stage research programs.

 

 

Qualifications:
M.D. and/or Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree, at least 5 years of experience in oncology R&D in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industries, and experience in the development and application of PD/biomarker strategies is required. Experience working in a heavily matrixed environment is also required. Strong working knowledge of advanced genomic/proteomic technologies is highly desirable.
