To better your understanding of non-clinical career options and/or facilitate your physician career change, today we introduce you to David Toub, MD, MBA, FACOG. Dr. Toub is Medical Director at Gynesonics, a medical device startup that is developing a minimally invasive treatment for uterine fibroids.

 

He received AB and MD degrees from the University of Chicago and earned an MBA with a concentration in management information systems from Drexel University. David is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After postgraduate medical training in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Albert Einstein Medical Center, David completed a fellowship in pelvic surgery at Graduate Hospital. He also served as an attending physician at Pennsylvania Hospital, where he held faculty appointments at both Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania. A laparoscopic surgeon with a special interest in providing alternatives to hysterectomy, David has been a faculty member at several conferences organized by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, is an expert reviewer for the Journal Obstetrics and Gynecology and was appointed to the Editorial Advisory Board for The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
