In search of a physician career change opportunity or a new non-clinical career? An executive search firm is looking to fill the position of Vice President of Clinical Development for nephrologic disease management for a Biopharmaceutical Company client.

 

This Physician would join the Client in discovering and developing a pipeline of next-generation renal care pharmaceutical products.  He/She must have had expertise in pioneering the use of a high throughput discovery and development platforms. In this position he/she will have full strategic and operational responsibility to coordinate and manage creative clinical research and development activities leading to successful worldwide filings and approvals of the Client’s projects. He/She will report to the Senior Vice President of Drug Development. Specifically the referral will be responsible to develop and execute clinical strategy for all research and development projects in cooperation with all appropriate project team members and disciplines and external partners and vendors. Furthermore the referral leads the preparation of clinical portions of all relevant regulatory filings (e.g. IND’s, NDA’s). The successful Physician, a trained Nephrologist, would interact with thought leaders to assure implementation of latest clinical thinking and guidelines into a clinical development plan. The physician would provide clinical expertise for all projects. This Physician would lead selection of service providers such as CRO’s based on the project needs and manage their activities.

 

He/She must have the interpersonal and communicative skills to address the project needs of his/her Department. They would like the referral to have 5-10 years of directly related experience in clinical functions in pharmaceutical or biotech industry and at least 3 years in a senior level position. Polymer based drug experience within the therapeutic area would be of keen interest to the Client. A self-starter, who motivates, has tact, diplomacy, leadership skills and who has a flexible and positive approach with excellent organizational, planning, presentation and interpersonal skills would receive prompt attention for an interview. This person must have effective presentation skills to deliver speeches and/or presentations and have the ability to represent the Client in interactions with Board Members, Investors etc. He/She must be knowledgeable and current in GCP guidelines and be willing to take initiative and become directly involved in planning and execution of work within a team environment. He/She would have demonstrated success in effective interactions with investigators, ensuring quick enrollment and good patient compliance. The Client would like the referral to have excellent understanding of relevant fields in the conduct of clinical studies (i.e. statistics, data management, clinical operations, budget planning and project management). The successful referral should possess the ability to be creative and flexible when problem solving and be able to define clinical challenges. He/She plans and strategies to meet milestones and deadlines.

 

The Client’s initial stipend is very competitive and the position provides challenge and recognition for achievement. The position is within easy commute of cultural and social events and excellent schools. Relocation, if needed is amply provided.
