The Associate Medical Director will work on the clinical development program for a treatment of Hepatitis C, currently in Phase II development. Reporting to the Program Medical Director, this medical professional provides oversight for the conduct of specific clinical studies within the development program. Incumbent will also provide general medical and therapeutic area insight and training for the development team. Responsibilities include: develop and review protocols and other documentation (monitoring plans, analysis plans and CRFs) for Phase I and Phase II clinical studies; provide medical oversight during the conduct of specific clinical studies and communicate with the study team regarding protocol exemptions and deviations; review safety information and adverse event processing, prepare analysis plans, and review data analyses; prepare regulatory documents (including IND safety reports and annual reports); provide scientific/clinical input and content review; prepare study reports and make presentations for internal and external audiences (i.e. at investigator meetings, advisory boards, etc.); various duties that will contribute to the overall clinical development group. Qualifications include: an MD, DO or ex-US equivalent medical degree with post-graduate training; 2-5 years of clinical development experience within industry; working knowledge of biostatistics, clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics; adequate understanding of the drug development process including GCPs, regulatory and safety monitoring requirements; training in infectious diseases or hepatology is preferred; and solid written and oral communication skills.
