Clinical Research Physician Position

In search of a physician career change opportunity or a new non-clinical career? An executive search firm is currently looking to fill the following position: Senior Director, Clinical Research Physician, in New Jersey. This position is in the Oncology area of the company and incumbent will function as a Clinical Program or Indication Leader (“CIL or CPL”) and will review incoming data related to studies and have oversight of clinical study protocols, and work directly with and report to the VP in overseeing project safety and in designing and implementing protocols to provide patient access to novel molecular entities prior to registration.

 

Responsibilities include: ongoing review of safety events in clinical studies, preparation of clinical sections for regulatory correspondence, briefing books for HA correspondence, IMPD clinical modules, investigator brochure updates, and safety reviews; design and execution of clinical study protocols and amendments; participation in cross-functional interaction for key project level discussions; and clinical oversight and representation at investigator meetings, advisory boards and monitor training meetings.

 

Qualifications include: an MD/DO, with BE/BC in Hematology/Oncology a MUST (not internal med, etc); experience as a clinical investigator is preferable; experience in the pharmaceutical industry in research and development is strongly preferred, though not required; medical/scientific writing experience; the ability to critically review and interpret data; strong oral and written communications skills; strong leadership skills and ability to function in an interdisciplinary team are essential; and 7-10 years of related experience.
