This US or Global based Medical Director reports directly to the Global Medical Team Leader and will have the primary responsibility for conducting sponsored global / US medical trials. This responsibility includes gaining input on country needs; developing overall integrated strategy for studies with the development; leading the development protocols, coordinating activities with Regional Medical/ US based field medical and Regulatory Directors and other global/ US staff in the execution of the trials; and insuring publication and/or submission of the data. Additional responsibilities include: interacting with co-operative groups for the planning, execution and reporting of trials; and assisting in the generation of the clinical strategy for the yearly Operating Plan including coordinating input from Pfizer country affiliates, integrating the strategy with Marketing and developing the budget and timelines for the trials. Qualifications include: MD preferably with a minimum of three years industry experience; general experience in Phase III/IV clinical trials in relevant therapeutic area; experience working in the EU or other world regions and knowledge of ROW clinical trial regulatory requirements a plus. Medical Director openings include: Diabetes; Oncology; Cardiology; Virology; Respiratory; CNS; and Smoking Cessation.
