Three doctors made FiercePharma’s Top 15 Women in Pharma List today.

 

The Top 15 Women in Pharma article was written by Maureen Martino and appeared in today’s FiercePharma report. Among the 15 were Deborah Dunsire from Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Freda Lewis-Hall from Pfizer, and Lesley Russell from Cephalon. Deborah Dunsire

Title: President and CEO
Background: Dr. Dunsire has spent more than 20 years in the scientific, clinical, operational and commercial aspects of the biological/pharmaceutical business. She joined Millennium from Novartis.
Education: Doctor of Medicine from the University of Witwatersand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

Freda Lewis-Hall

Title: Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer
Background: Lewis-Hall joined Pfizer in 2008. Prior to her career at Pfizer, Dr. Lewis-Hall was at Vertex Pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for clinical and nonclinical development and both medical and regulatory affairs. She also did stints at BMS, Pharmacia Corporation, Eli Lilly, the National Institute of Mental Health and at the Howard University College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.
Education: Dr. Lewis-Hall received a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Natural Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University and her Medical Doctorate from Howard University Hospital and College of Medicine.

 

Lesley Russell

Title: Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Background: Russell leads Cephalon’s global clinical, medical, regulatory, drug safety, and biometrics organizations. She joined Cephalon in January 2000 from US Bioscience Inc./Medimmune Oncology, where she was Vice President, Clinical Research, responsible for directing and implementing the clinical programs in oncology and HIV research.
Education: Russell was trained in Hematology/Oncology at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and at Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh UK. She was a Research Fellow at University of Edinburgh Faculty of Medicine and received a MB.Ch.B. degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
