In search of a physician career change opportunity or a new non-clinical career? An executive search firm is looking to fill the position of Medical Director for Cardio/Radiology & Nuclear Medicine in Illinois.

 

 

The Medical Director for Cardio/Radiology & Nuclear Medicine plays a key role in the creation and implementation of drug development strategies and will work closely with the Clinical and Drug Development Project Teams in order to facilitate this process. The Medical Director plays a key role in the design and conduct of clinical trials including protocol development, evaluation of safety information from ongoing studies, data analysis and interpretation, and report writing. The Medical Director also has a primary role in interacting with regulatory authorities, both in meetings and in contributing to the preparation of key regulatory documents. The candidate must have a sound knowledge base in their respective clinical specialty and significant clinical practice experience and must demonstrate an ability and willingness to handle multiple projects, outside their therapeutic area if necessary, and to work independently on assigned projects. Incumbent must also possess experience in laboratory and/or clinical research, demonstrating a track record of designing experiments/trials, interpreting scientific data and taking projects to completion. In addition to clinical trial implementation, the candidate will organize and lead Advisory Boards contribute, to the evaluation of new products, and support marketing for approved products. Qualifications include: an M.D. degree, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Designated Specialty; a minimum three years clinical experience; a minimum two years laboratory or clinical research experience; a minimum five years experience in the pharmaceutical industry; strong working-knowledge of U.S. regulatory procedures and guidelines; you must be an effective team player in a matrixed R&D environment; the ability to work independently on all aspects of assigned projects; excellent presentation and writing skills; and excellent organizational skills.
